KC Kid of the Week: This is our very first feature and it is of 5yr old Masai Hoshea Long. At a very young age his parents saw the potential he had to be great, so through encouragement and support Masai was able to start his own business, Masai's Fresh Garden Eats.

Masai's Fresh Garden Eats was designed to encourage children and to teach them that they can still enjoy all their favorite foods just with a healthier twist. Masai believes it's easier to encourage your friends to eat lettuce,tomatoes spinach,and yellow squash, if you can show them that it was grown in love by someone that looks just like them.

That's where the inspiration for his first book came from "Masai the Warrior and His Garden Adventures". While at the library looking for books on gardening, there were few book with people that look like him, so with the help of his parents Masai set out to change that. Not only is Masai an entrepreneur and author but he is also an avid reader who already has read thousands of books. We are excited to see what Masai’s next adventure will be!
