6th June is International Homebirth Day! Not only did I have the most 17 and 1/2 hr empowering Homebirth myself. I have now been blessed to be apart of many birthdays in my of black and brown families. I remember attending births with my Auntie and then later alone and never realized that I would be reclaiming my ancestry by coming full circle.
As a Doula and Midwifery Assistant I’m blessed to be a huge advocate of Birthing people having options and education about those options. YOU CAN BIRTH WHERE YOU FEEL THE MOST SAFE!
We’ve been doing this since the beginning of time. Home birth is safe with the right birth team. However the end goal is ALWAYS Healthy Mom and Healthy 👶🏾👶🏼👶🏿👶🏽..... l AM Black History….
