Zobo drink is the West African version to Caribbean sorrel and Latin American agua jamaíca. This is a drink that I’ve culturally enjoyed year around with family and friends, for healing and enjoyment. This extremely refreshing combination of tropical fruit, earthy hibiscus, and aromatic spices! Is a win win!
Zobo Drink
Whatcha Need:
1 cup dried hibiscus
1 two-inch piece of ginger
1 two-inch piece of turmeric or 1TBS ground
1/2 orange w/peel
1/2 tsp clove buds
2 bay leaves
2 star anise
2 cinnamon sticks
3 cups spring water
1 cup fresh squeezed pineapple juice
How it’s Done:
Wash hibiscus petals and put in a pot with some water. Add all your other ingredients(except for the pineapple juice)and bring to a boil. Turn off the heat as soon as it starts boiling up. Let it steep for a 4-6 hours can sit overnight. Strain. Add pineapple juice. You can sweeten it but it’s really not necessary🤘🏾
