Melanated History Month(Mr.Jack Johnson)

It's Monday and we're at it again, celebrating who and what we are Beautiful and Melanated! To jump off this week we decided to revisit one of Masai Hoshea's favorite Melanated Hero's of all time Mr. Jack Johnson. Masai fell in love with an African American Match game that I purchased in early 2000 for his older brothers when they were younger.

So last year I decided to dust it off and pull it out for Masai and I to play. Man oh man I had no clue the impact this game would have on him at only 3yrs old. He wanted to play this game daily and hear about the amazing Hero's on the matching cards. Ms. Jack Johnson just made a REAL impression on him,and we've been learning all we could since. Just go to show your NEVER to young or old to learn.

Another fact many don't know about Mr.Jack Johnson is while in jail right here in Kansas Mr. Johnson reinvented the wrench! Yes ma'am that's right. Although the wrench was already invented, Mr. Johnson can up with a different version and had it patent on April 18,1922. tool that most people use often was not only invented by an African American,but by the first African American Heavy Weight Champion!!!
